District 1 Couty Commissioner Candidate Dan Bucholz held the most votes in the general election which took place on Nov. 3.

According to the official results, Bucholz lead with 4,228 votes, followed by his contestant Besty Roder with 3,147 votes, and 19 write-in votes.

Otter Tail County Auditor-Treasure Wayne Stein said in an email to the Focus the Couty canvassed the votes on Friday, Nov. 13.

"We are currently in the contest period, which runs for seven days. This is a period of time when someone could contest the election or request a recount. After the contest period ends certificates of election can be prepared," Stein said.

Stein said certificates for the three commissioner districts, the three East Otter Tail Soil and Water District seats, as well as the three West Otter Tail Soil and Water District seats will be prepared and sent out on Friday, Nov. 20. The wintering candidates will receive the certificates on either Nov. 23 or 24.
