Perham man sentenced for felony drug conviction
A Perham man, 27-year-old Dakota Troy Anderson, was sentenced July 23 in county court, Fergus Falls, following a fifth-degree drug felony conviction. The crime dates back to Feb. 26, 2018. He pled guilty on May 21. The judge sentenced Anderson to 13 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud. Court fee totals amount to $360.
Dalton man sentenced
A Dalton man, 21-year-old Lucas Richard Haarstad, was sentenced July 23 in county court following a felony conviction of assault in the second degree with a dangerous weapon. The offense dates back to Jan. 22, 2018. He pled guilty on June 11. Stayed for seven years is a 36-month stay in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud. Local confinement in the Otter Tail County jail previously totaled 167 days. Haarstad will report to a probation agent and must remain law abiding. Under a stay order, time in jail is typically hanging over one's head to incentivize a person to complete probation in order to avoid serving designated time in prison. The accused was also ordered to complete a chemical assessment and follow recommendations of the evaluation.
