A Henning man, 58-year-old Richard Charles Holm, was sentenced in county court, Fergus Falls, on July 8 after a felony conviction of drug possession in the fifth degree.
Local confinement is 29 days which includes 26 days for time already served.
If he stays on good behavior for five years, his sentence of 12 months in the state correctional facility in St. Cloud will be stayed.
Stayed means that the judge has sentenced someone to jail, but has delayed the sentence. If the defendant violates the terms of probation, the original jail sentence is imposed.
The original offense dates back to Aug. 31, 2018.
The judge ordered Holm to have a complete chemical assessment and to follow recommendations of evaluation.
He also was ordered to follow directives of his probation agent for five years. Total court fees for Holm amount to $985.
Vergas man sentenced on theft charges
Nathanial Martin Kieffer, 41 of Vergas, was sentenced July 22 in county court, Fergus Falls.
Kieffer pleaded guilty on July 22. The original case dates back to June 2, 2018.
Kieffer’s 90 days of local confinement for the felony conviction of theft and transfer of property includes 60 days stayed if he remains on good behavior for one year.
He was ordered to follow directives of his probation agent. Total court fees for Kieffer amount to $3,060. Restitution to victims also is part of the court order.
Electronic home monitoring for 30 days will be done at his own expense.
