A rural Perham man convicted on a felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge has been sentenced to 36 months in prison at St. Cloud, stayed 15 years.
Jesse James Schultes, 29, was sentenced Jan. 10 by in Becker County District Court by Judge Jay Carlson.
A felony charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct was dismissed in a plea agreement.
According to court records, on Sept. 27, 2017, a girl disclosed to authorities that she had had consensual sex with Schultes on multiple occasions in October and November of 2016, when she was about 15 and he was about 25. A warrant was issued for his arrest at the time, and was returned Jan. 28, 2019.
In addition to the prison sentence, Schultes was ordered by Carlson to serve 90 days in jail, with credit for three days served, and was fined $1,000 plus $1,085 in court fees.
Schultes was ordered to have no contact with anyone under age 18, unless approved by probation, and to not look at porn or engage via social media with anyone who is under the age of 18. He was ordered to complete intensive sex offender counseling and complete a mental health evaluation and follow the recommendations.
He was placed on supervised probation for 15 years.
