Sheriff deputies reported the theft of various items from a residence on the south side of Stuart Lake, east of Clitherall and northwest of Vining. The call came in to the sheriff’s office on March 28.
Taken were a flat screen TV, air rifle with scope and Yeti can cooler filled with change. The investigation was continuing as of Monday morning, March 30.
New York Mills man arrested on DANCO violation charge
Sheriff deputies, at 8:20 p.m. March 29, arrested a New York Mills man on a violation of a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order (DANCO) charge. The man was taken without incident to the Otter Tail County jail in Fergus Falls.
Judges lay out terms of no-contact orders which can include no face-to-face contact, no conversations and no interactions in person.
In Minnesota a conviction is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000.

County residents are reminded to be aware of scam attempts pertaining to coronavirus (COVID-19).
If you receive calls, emails or other communications offering such things such as COVID-19 grants, scammers will also try entice people to provide personal information along with advanced fees or gift card numbers.

Road closed from washout
Sheriff deputies March 29 reported a road closing of 595th Avenue, due to washout, from Highway 8 to 450th Street. This is north of Bluffton in Blowers Township, in the extreme northeastern section of Otter Tail County.
Car struck by baseball bat in Perham area
Sheriff deputies, on March 26, responded to a caller in the Perham area regarding disorderly conduct.
The complainant said a man, who knew the complainant's girlfriend, ran after him and later on hit the complainant’s car with a baseball bat.
Charges were considered against the suspect. The complainant was also advised about pursuing an order for protection or a restraining order.
Henning man injured in vehicle accident
A Henning man was injured March 24 in a traffic accident at 385th Street and Railroad Drive, near Marion Lake and southeast of Dent.
David Wilson, 19, rolled his vehicle after trying to avoid hitting a deer, according to Otter Tail County sheriff deputies. He was taken to a hospital with head and rib injuries. Those injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening.
Clitherall man seriously injured in accident
Isadore Andrew Mallack, 78, of Clitherall was seriously injured March 21 in a traffic accident at the intersection of Highways 40 and 210 in Vining. His vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by a man from Marion, N.D.
Assisting sheriff deputies were members of the State Highway Patrol and fire department from the town of Ottertail.
