Several items were taken from a garage on 310th Street, north of Elizabeth and south of Erhard. The incident was reported to the sheriff’s office on June 4.
Taken were two antique boat motors. There was damage to nearby buildings that were rummaged through.
Sheriff deputies said there were no immediate suspects. The complainant will call if other items appeared to be missing.
Handgun reported stolen from vehicle
A stolen handgun was reported to Otter Tail County sheriff deputies on Wednesday, June 3.
A man left a Ruger "charger" handgun in his father's vehicle. The vehicle needed repair, and the man's father left it at a repair business in Ottertail.
When the man went back to the business later in the day to get the items, he found the driver’s side door was open and the gun was missing.
Deputies had an extensive conversation with the man, talking about the need to be a responsible gun/permit owner.
Home burglary reported
Sheriff deputies reported that a home near Highway 6, northwest of Parkers Prairie, was broken into on June 3.
The complainant reported that the home was forcibly entered, possibly through the ground floor window. Miscellaneous items were taken.
Evidence was collected at the scene. There were no immediate suspects as of June 4.
Man arrested on drug possession charge
Sheriff deputies arrested a man for 5th degree drug possession on June 2 at the intersection of Highway 35 and Fireside Drive, south of Dalton. The arrest was made at 2:24 p.m.
Inside the vehicle were drug paraphernalia and hypodermic needles. The vehicle was impounded by law enforcement and held for forfeiture.
