Cunniff endorsed by DFL for House District 8B

Bob Cunniff, of Alexandria, was endorsed on Saturday, March 31 as the Democratic candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives in the new District 8B.

Bob Cunniff, of Alexandria, was endorsed on Saturday, March 31 as the Democratic candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives in the new District 8B.

The newly defined district includes most of eastern Otter Tail County, including Ottertail and New York Mills (Perham is District 8A), as well as most of Alexandria, east to the Todd County line.

The endorsing convention took place in Battle Lake, along with the conventions for House District 8A and Senate District 8.

Cunniff won the nomination over Carol Wenner of Alexandria.

"I'd like to thank the people of 8B for their support and endorsement," Cunniff stated in a press release. "I want to represent all people in my district and am looking forward to traveling to the area to meet everyone."

Cunniff is a retired teacher, coach and radio sports announcer who has lived in the Alexandria area for 35 years. He's a graduate of the University of Minnesota, a 4-H volunteer, a member of the Out-reach Committee for the District 206 referendum, and more.

He believes, "If we want things to work, we need to elect people who think, have a conscience, who are creative and who see the big picture. We need problem solvers to come up with new solutions and who use real data before voting on an issue."
