Delores D. (Pajuoja) Fowler, 72, of Baldwinsville, NY, died peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2008, at Francis House surrounded by her family, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Grand Rapids, MN. She was the daughter of Finnish emigrants, the late Arvo Pajuoja and Ida (Kultala) Pajuoja. She was raised in New York Mills, MN, where many Finnish emigrants settled. She also lived in Oakland, CA before moving to Baldwinsville. She worked several years at University Hospital. She was a very loving, caring and kind mother, grandmother, wife, and friend to all. She will be dearly missed. Delores was pre-deceased by her husband of 47 years, Donald and three brothers, Willard, Frank and James.
Survivors include three daughters, Andrea Leonard, Kristine Ryan, and Amy (Jeffrey) McCullar, and one son Joel (Kimberly) Fowler all of Baldwinsville; two sisters, Mildred Ollie of New York Mills, and Lillian Johnson of Maplewood, MN; one brother, Russell (Judy) of New York Mills; nine grandchildren, Joseph Leonard, Melissa Zavaski, Sarah Leonard, Ryan and Zachary Fowler, Austin Ryan and Valerie, Alexis and Courtney McCullar; two great-grandchildren, Alina and Carolyn Zavaski, and one great-grandson due in November; several dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
Services were held Friday, September 12, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Burial will be at a later date in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
