The DFL turnout for precinct caucuses was at a record low at the elementary school in Dent on Tuesday, March 7.
The school was the site for DFLers from two towns and six townships to meet. Eleven people were in attendance. Three townships had no representation. In 2004 (a presidential election year) 37 people showed up to conduct the partys business.
The 11 people were a mix of old activists and newcomers. The newcomers were mainly present to speak on behalf of their favorite candidate for District 10 State Senator. A couple from Dent praised Dan Skogens farming background; a man from Fergus Falls spoke about Ed Schmidts listening skills, and a woman from Dora township reminded everyone that John Minge may decide to run.
