After a 1-4 start, the New York Mills baseball team started getting hot about the same time the weather did. A doubleheader sweep over Parkers Prairie at Jacobson Field last Thursday gave the Eagles a four-game winning streak.
As the visiting team in game one (a make-up from a April 10 rain-out), Mills jumped on the board right away in the top of the first. An RBI single by Jeremy Hagen and two-run hit by David Resch gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead.
Mills went on to score in every inning, getting two in the second, two in the third, one each in the fifth and sixth and closing the game out with a four-run sixth to win, 13-5.

Hagen finished the game 3-for-5 with a double and four RBI. Alex Helmeke, Drew Schultz and Mike Baune each drove in two runs.
Schultz went the first 5 1/3 innings on the mound to pick up the win. Brendan Frost pitched the final 1 2/3 in relief.
The Eagles also got out to an early lead in a 7-3 win in game two.
Already ahead 1-0, Baune led off the second getting hit by the pitch and moved to second on a passed ball before Cory Perala singled. After a strike out, Jordan Vaughan delivered a run-scoring double to make the score 2-0. Jason Burg then drove in Perala and Vaughan with a single to give Mills a 5-0 lead.
Parkers Prairie responded by scoring three runs on three hits off Eagle starter Baune in the top of the third. But that's all they would get off Baune, as he went the distance for his third win of the season. he allowed just two hits outside the third inning, striking out three and walking three over seven innings.
Mills picked up insurance runs in the fifth and sixth for the final 7-3 margin.
Baune and Vaughan each went 2-for-3 at the plate with a RBI each.
