Despite a 7-0 loss to a very good Osakis team, New York Mills head coach Gary Bach was pleased with his team's performance.

"Our players competed with great effort," Bach said. "Several matches were closer than the final score."

The Eagles closest singles match was a 6-2, 6-3 loss at No. 4 as Brianne Giesler defeated Ally Slieter. The No. 1 doubles team of Lauri Vorderbruggen and Erica Imsande played well in a 6-3 second set loss after dropping the first set, 6-1.

"We're headed in the right direction and need to stay positive and keep up the effort," Bach added.

The Eagles played well, but lost 6-1 to Parkers Prairie on Tuesday. Kendal Perala & Christine Becker won at No. 3 doubles. Whitney Koehler lost a very tough match at No. 1 singles.

The Eagles will host Mahnomen today (Sept. 14) before hitting the road for matches at Upsala-Swanville on Sept. 18 and at Wadena-Deer Creek on Sept. 19.
