The Eagles varsity baseball team evened its record to 2-2 with a 17-1 win over Verndale last week. Earlier in the week New York Mills lost to Parkers Prairie.
Jake Hendrickx threw a no-hitter over five innings for the win against Verndale. He gave up one unearned run on no hits, walked two and struck out 11. The Eagles defense committed three errors.
David Klinnert led the offense with three hits, including his first homerun of the season. Jason Burg had two hits with a homerun. Bryce Bernu also had two hits, including a double. The Eagles pounded out 11 hits and with a 7-1 lead after four innings scored 10 runs in the fifth inning.

On April 11 the Eagles lost 8-4 to Parkers Prairie. Parkers took a 3-2 lead after the first inning and scored two in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. They put up three more runs in the top of the sixth and the Eagles finally got back on the board with two runs in the bottom of the sixth, but it wasnt enough.
Jake Hendrickx had two hits, including a double, and two RBI for the Eagles. David Klinnert started on the mound and took the loss. He gave up four runs (two earned) on three hits. He struck out six and walked five. Josh Hendrickx threw three innings of relief and gave up four runs (two earned) on two hits. He struck out six and walked one. Drew Schultz struck out two and walked two in the seventh inning.
The Eagles play Thursday, 4:30 p.m., at home against Sebeka; and Friday, 4:30 p.m., at home against Wadena-Deer Creek.
