The New York Mills girls basketball team took their first road trip Thursday to Twin Valley to take on Norman County East in a make-up game from Dec. 4. The trip went well for the Eagles as they came home with a 56-41 win.

Emily Salo and Hannah Rutten helped Mills build a big first half lead. Salo hit four three-pointers and Rutten dominated the lane as the Eagles took a 32-18 lead into the half.

Rutten continued to dominate in the second half, scoring 13 of New York Mills 24 points. She finished with game highs in scoring (23) and rebounds (13). Salo hit one more three-poiter in the second half to finish with 16 points.

Kristen Perala led the team with three assists, despite leaving the game early in the first half with a cut to her nose. She was expected to retun for the Dec. 7 game at Bertha-Hewitt.
