East Otter Tail County Fair to run July 20-23

Visitors and locals are invited to the 2006 East Otter Tail County Fair, coming to Perham from July 20 -23. Whether you appreciate the livestock, or the demo derby, or cotton candy, fair-goers can expect another jam-packed week of activities.

Visitors and locals are invited to the 2006 East Otter Tail County Fair, coming to Perham from July 20 -23. Whether you appreciate the livestock, or the demo derby, or cotton candy, fair-goers can expect another jam-packed week of activities.

Season tickets, valid all four days of the fair, can be purchased for $12 pre-sale, and $15 at the gate.

Events begin July 18 with judging of non-livestock projects. 4-H shows and livestock showings start on July 20 at 9 a.m. and will continue through July 22. The Carnival Midway will open at 1 p.m. starting on Thursday and will run through midnight through Sunday night. Also open daily will be the Children's Petting Barn, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A demolition derby will be held July 20 at 7 p.m.

On July 21, the Senior Citizens' Show and Bingo will take place from 2-4 p.m., while the Street Dance with Tripp 40 playing will kick off at 9 p.m.

On July 22, fair goers can head for the horse show at 9 a.m. and then the 4-H Auction and Dairy Recognition at 10 a.m. The Exhibit Building will be open from 10-11 a.m.

For the more adventurous, the Tractor/Truck pull will begin at 5 p.m. A reminder to participants, that the entries are limited and individuals should pre-register to secure their place. Following the pull will be another street dance with Sapphire playing.

The festivities peak on July 23 with the 4-H awards ceremony at 4 p.m. Also on Sunday is the annual demo derby, the second event for derby drivers this year.

Gate Admission is $6 age 13 and older, parking free of admission. Carnival armbands are being pre sold for $15 a ticket, $20 at the gate. Carnival sessions run from 1-6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to midnight daily.
