One of the special election items on the ballot in much of East Otter Tail County, is the Perham Hospital District Board of Directors.
The board is comprised of representatives from 10 townships, three cities and one "at-large" position.
These jurisdictions are the City of Perham, City of Dent, City of Richville, Gorman Township, Otter Tail Township, Dora Township, Perham Township, Dead Lake Township, Corliss Township, Edna Township, Rush Lake Township and Star Lake Township, as well as the at-large position.
They are elected for a 4-year term. Every two years, seven of the positions are up for election.
The hospital district is formed under Minnesota statute and is also governed by Perham Hospital District Bylaws.

The Board of Directors meets the last Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m.
