Five Prairie Wind Middle School students participated in the Jan. 13 school competition of the National Geographic GeoBee. The winners were:
- First place: Hunter Dupuis, seventh grade
- Second place: Elizabeth Spencer, eighth grade
- Third place: Madeleine Lamb, eighth grade
The school competition is the first round in the annual National Geographic GeoBee, a geography competition designed to inspire and reward students' curiosity about the world. Questions not only cover geography, but also ancient and world civilizations, cultures and physical features.
All of the school champions will take an online qualifying test; up to 100 of the top test scores in each state will then become eligible to compete in their State GeoBee.
