The Perham speech team competed in an asynchronous tournament hosted by Cass Lake-Bena. Perham finished fourth in the event, while Eveleth-Gilbert was first. Bemidji finished second, said a news release from Perham-Dent Public Schools.

Perham had a total of six entries and seven speakers for the event on Jan. 23.

The Perham competitors had to take on the challenge of recording their speeches and submitting them for three rounds of competition.

Perham captured a pair of individual first-place finishes. Crisavy Seeman was first in Informative Speaking, while Lauren Schreader came in first in Prose Reading.

Emily Kirchenwitz and Sadie Shippee finished second in Duo Interpretation. Kira Johnson finished fourth in Poetry Reading and Ciodarl Seeman came in fifth in Humorous Interpretation.
