Eleanor "Ellie" Ann Roggenkamp passed away on Friday, December 28th at the Perham Memorial Hospital. Ellie was born on July 2, 1925 to her parents Peter & Margaret (Hopp) Richter in Wadena.
Ellie was united in marriage to Ludwig "Louie" Joseph Roggenkamp on September 27, 1944 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Catholic Aid, Christian Mothers, St. John's Choir, VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Singing Grandma's with her sisters Mary & Jane. Ellie and Louie farmed near Bluffton for many years. She enjoyed her time with her family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, singing at family gatherings and in the church choir.
Ellie was preceded in death by her husband Louie on September 15, 2003; her parents and her brother Raymond. She is survived by her daughter Sandy (Peter Jongewaard) of Canyon; sons Bob (Mary) of Bluffton, Allan (Jeanne) of Wadena, Kelly (Susan) of Wadena and Eric of Bluffton; 20 grandchildren & 24 great-grandchildren; sisters Veronica (Warren) Behmen of Hopkins, Mary (Herb) Lehmkuhl of Wadena, Jane (Erv) Weber of Wadena, Sophie (Bob) Roser of Claremont, CA; brothers Bob Richter of Perham, Ed (Lorraine) Richter of Verndale, Jim (Virginia) Richter of Wadena, Don Richter of Wadena, Jack (Judy) Richter of Verndale and Arnold (Carolyn) Richter of Sebeka.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, December 31st at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton with Fr. Donald Wagner as celebrant. Honorary pallbearers were all of her grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Travis Roggenkamp, Becky Wegscheid, Luke Roggenkamp, Leanne Stoll, Sarah Riedel & Colleen Graue. Burial was in the St. John's Cemetery following the Mass.
