ERHARD, Minn. - The driver of a pickup truck pulling a livestock trailer was hurt when the vehicle jackknifed while going down a hill, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office reported.

The accident happened at about 9:49 p.m. Sunday on 170th Avenue half a mile north of County Highway 116.

Christopher Bilden, 25, of rural Erhard, was northbound on 170th Avenue in his pickup pulling a 32-foot livestock trailer. As he neared a railroad crossing while going down a hill and through a curve, the vehicle began to slide and skid on the snow- and ice-packed roadway, the sheriff's office stated in a news release.

The pickup and trailer began to jackknife as they crossed the railroad tracks, sending the vehicle onto its side as it tore away from the trailer.

Family members took Bilden to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
