Eunice McKibben, known as Mike, age 82, of Moorhead, MN, died at her home in Moorhead on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006.
Eunice M. Mikelson was born August 1, 1923, in the Clarkfield, MN, area. She grew up and received her education in Clarkfield. She graduated from St. Olaf College in 1945.
On June 13, 1948, Eunice married Robert E. McKibben in Minneapolis, MN. They lived in Minneapolis, and in 1950, they moved to Valley City, ND, where Dr. McKibben began his dental practice. During the Korean Conflict, Dr. McKibben served in the US Army, and the family lived in New York and in North Carolina. After his discharge from the service, they returned to Valley City.
In 1970, the family moved to Moorhead, MN. Eunice assisted her husband in his orthodontic practice by doing the bookkeeping from home. They retired in 1999. After retirement, they continued to live in Moorhead. For many years, the family spent summers at their lake home on Little Pine Lake, near Perham, MN.
Eunice is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert E. McKibben; a son, Robert B. McKibben of Valley City; four daughters, Pat A. (Gar) Hansen, Valley City; Sue E. (Gary) Warner, Grand Rapids, MN, Mary D. White, Bagley, MN, and Carol L. Steinhoff, Fosston, MN; a brother, Lester (Doris) Mikelson, Minneapolis; a sister, Sylvia (Keith) Textor, Palm Dessert, CA; and eleven grandchildren.
