Funeral services will be held for Liz McFadzen on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills, Minnesota, with Pastor Jon T. Haakana officiating. The hymns were sung by the congregation, accompanied by Janell Brakel. Special music was provided by Gary Bach. The pallbearers were Jason Vanderhoff, Timothy McFadzen, Andrew McFadzen, Jeremy Schmitz, George Dupuis, Mike Dupuis and Jeremiah Speckel. Liz will be laid to rest in St. John's Cemetery in Gilmore City, Iowa on Friday, April 6, 2007 with Pastor Ray Block officiating.

Faye Elisabeth McFadzen was born on June 30, 1940 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Her parents were the late Eugene Walter and Grace Thelma (Schwab) Garman. Liz grew up in rural Gilmore City, Iowa. She attended school in Gilmore City and also attended Pochahantos Catholic School in Pochahantos, Iowa. On March 4, 1957 Liz was united in marriage to James Charles McFadzen at St. John Catholic Church in Gilmore City, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with six children. Liz and Jim resided in Pochantos County where they farmed. In 1968 they moved to Homestead Township, rural New York Mills, Minnesota where they continued farming. In 1977 Liz and Jim built a house near Big Pine Lake, rural Perham, Minnesota over the winter. In 2003 Liz moved to New York Mills, Minnesota. She was an employee with Seip Drug in New York Mills, Minnesota for many years. She has recently been employed at the Dollar Store in Perham, Minnesota. Liz was very good at sewing, quilting, and crafts. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. On March 31, 2007 Liz passed away at her home in New York Mills, Minnesota at 66 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Liz in death were her parents Eugene and Grace.

Liz is survived by three daughters: Kellie Christie of St. Cloud; Kimberly (Frank) Wallace of Gilmore City, Iowa; Tammi McFadzen of Sidney, Montana; three sons: David (Karen) McFadzen of Andover; Matthew McFadzen of Perham; Mark (Denise) McFadzen of Pine River; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Roberta) Garman of Jackson, Georgia; other relatives and a host of friends.

Arrangements were provided by the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home in New York Mills, Minnesota.
