A rural Vining house, southeast of town near Highway 40, was destroyed by fire late Tuesday morning, Aug. 6.
The homeowner, Jeffery Bjugan, was outside his residence when he noticed the fire. Firefighters from Henning, Vining and Parkers Prairie responded to the scene but were not able to save the house.
“The fire appeared to have started in an upstairs bedroom,” said County Sheriff Administrative Lt. Keith Van Dyke. “The bedroom had a working air conditioner, but it’s not known if that is what caused the fire.”
County deputies and fire officials said the home was a complete loss. There appeared to be no injuries.
