One of summer's biggest events in Perham begins Thursday as the East Otter Tail County Fair kicks off a four-day run.
Each day will have a theme with Thursday being Military/Veterans and Daycare Day, Friday being Senior Citizen Day, Saturday being Kid's Day and Sunday being Family Day.
Special events being featured include Wristband Ride Night on Thursday from 6-10 p.m., a Truck and Modified Tractor Pull Friday at 7 p.m. at the Grandstand, a 6 p.m. Demo Derby Saturday at the Grandstand and a 3 p.m. Antique Tractor Pull on Sunday at the Grandstand.
Rides on the Midway will be provided by Family Fun Shows. Ticket information can be found at familyfunshows.com.
The fair will also see music each day, a beer garden, comedy shows, and 4-H judging in livestock and non-livestock competition. Other events will include a Scarecrow Contest all four days, an Open Class Poultry Show Thursday, a Rooster Crowing Contest Thursday through Saturday, a Agriculture Scavenger Hunt Thursday through Saturday, The Rad Zoo (Reptile and Amphibian Discovery) Thursday and Friday, a woodturning exhibition Thursday and Friday, Street Dances Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Pig Races and Barnyard Olympics are set Saturday afternoon, a Kid's Tractor Pull Saturday evening. Sunday's slate will include a Pancake Breakfast Sunday with a Blacksmithing Demonstration, a Little Britches Dairy Show and Polka in the Park also on tap.

There will be free admission and $2 parking on the grounds.
Fair attendance has averaged 15,000 in past years but vendors saw a marked increase in attendance in 2017.
