Four people were injured when a boat ran ashore and hit trees on Detroit Lake early Sunday, July 17, the Becker County Sheriff's Office reported.

The sheriff's office received a 911 call on the incident about 12:06 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found an 18-foot SeaRay runabout and its occupants at 400 South Shore Drive, Sheriff Todd Glander said in a news release.

The boat operator, Eric Tulius, 39, and passengers Jolene Tulius, 39, Jodie Johnson, 39 and Matthew Johnson, 39, were all taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, Glander said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
