Frazee wife in court for stabbing

A Frazee woman made her first appearance late last week in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of second degree assault-dangerous weapon.

A Frazee woman made her first appearance late last week in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of second degree assault-dangerous weapon.

Chanel Michelle Schmitz, 40, of 512 Balsam Ave., Lot 27, Frazee, allegedly assaulted her spouse with a kitchen knife during an argument at their Frazee home during the early morning hours of April 4.

According to the complaint, Schmitz was intoxicated at the time that she allegedly stabbed her spouse in the back with the knife. She was later found asleep in another room, and was taken into custody. Schmitz has been released on $10,000 bond pending her next court appearance, at an April 16 Rule 8 hearing.
