Geraldine Liebl-Broten passed away Nov. 18, 2006 in Minot, ND at the age of 81. Gerry was born in Coleraine, Minn. June 25, 1925. Gerry and Ray Liebl were married In Mahnomen, Minn., June 22, 1944.
They moved to Cooperstown, ND in 1953 and raised their two sons, Tom and Fred, there. Gerry worked for a local doctor and then spent many years working for First State Bank. After Ray passed away in 1974, she moved to Fargo, ND. She married Vernon Broten in 1976 and they lived in Perham, Minn. Gerry is survived by her sons, Tom Liebl and his wife, Bonnie, of Powell Butte, Oregon and Fred Liebl and his wife, Luanne, of Bottineau, ND; her sisters Bev Ferrin and Marge Dybing of Seattle, a brother Dean Nelson from Mahnomen, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A memorial celebration will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen, Minn. December 13 at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, www.alz.org or 1-800-272-3900.
