Just two days after a sweep by the Jacket boys and girls track teams in Hawley, Perham nearly came away with twin titles again last Thursday at the Hank Emmel Invite in Pelican Rapids. The girls edged Breckenridge by three points, 101-98 for the crown, but the boys finished a distant second to the Cowboys, 153.5-95.
Perham's girls were led by Brittany Gigstead, who broke her own meet record in the 800m with a first place time of 2:17.28. Maddie McClellan was second, more than 11 seconds behind.
Abby Anderson gave Perham two distance titles by winning the 1600m with a time of 5:31.60. Alli Januszewski was second (5:37.13).
