It was less than a stellar day for the Eagles track and field teams at the Daggett Invitational in Frazee last Thursday. The girls finished seventh overall and the boys finished 10th.
The girls had a number of top-5 finishes, led by a 1st place toss of 35'2" in the shot put by Brittnie Menze. Menze followed that up with a fifth place finish in the discus (90'6").
Also finishing with a pair of top-five finishes was Alli Slieter. Slieter took fourth in the 200m dash (28.06) and placed fifth in the 100m dash (13.58).

Olivia Hendrickx had an impressive showing in the 800m run, breaking up a near sweep by Perham runners with a second place finish in a time of 2:32.21.
Ashley Hagen took fourth in the high jump, clearing 4'10".
The Eagle boys struggled, as they went home with just two top-five athletes.
Hampered with an injured ankle, Kenny Szymonowicz finished fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.64. Brandon Menze was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 41'3".
Ben Jacobson just missed the top-five with a sixth place finish in the 110m hurdles (17.84).
The Frazee meet marked the final regular season event for NY Mills. Their post-season begins today (May 17) at the Park Region Conference Championships in Pillager. They will return to Pillager on May 24 for the 6A Sub-Section Meet.
