A little broken leg isn't enough to keep Jeanna Kratzke from the course. The Pehram senior broke a bone in her foot on Easter Sunday, but has still played in every event this spring for the Lady Jacket golf team.

With a walking cast on her front foot, Kratzke still shot a 47 in Heart O' Lakes competition and a 99 overall at the invite at Perham Lakeside Golf Club April 26.

Perham won the 18-hole invite with a 425. The also won the 9-hole HOL event (scores from the conference teams on the back nine) with a 186.

Pelican Rapids was second as a team in both (193-396). The Vikings did have the individual champ in Nicole Hanson (42-43--85).

Perham's Nikki Mattfeld was second in the HOL nine with a 43. She was third overall in the 10-team invite with a 90.

Kratzke said she was told she'd have the cast on 6-8 weeks (four weeks ago).

The Lady Jackets are now just one point behind Pelican Rapids in the HOL standings. The play in the HOL at Breckenridge today (May 3). They get their first peek at the section course when they play in the Fergus Falls Invite at Pebble Lake G.C. on May 4.

Perham's busy week continues on May 7 when they play in the W-DC invite at Whitetail Run G.C. There will be a HOL doubleheader at Frazee and at Lake Park-Audubon (Forest Hills) on May 8, then another invite at Menahga (Blueberry Pines) on May 10.

Boys 6th, 3rd in

HOL meets

The Yellowjacket boys remain in the mix for the HOL title after a sixth place finish at Breckenridge on April 26 and a third place finish at Hawley on Monday.

D-G-F snuck in front of Perham in the HOL standings with a first place finish at Breckenridge (162). The Jackets finished with a 174.

Meet medalist was Taylor Hendrickson of Agassiz Valley, who shot a 36. Barry Nelson led Perham with a 40. Nick Dockter shot a 44.

Perham took 11 strokes off that score when they shot a 163 at Hawley Monday to finish third. Hawley/Ulen-Hitterdal won the HOL nine with a 151.

H/U-H, led my medalist Adderly Hoag, also won the 12-team, 18-hole invite with a 303. Perham was third in that as well with a 303. Hoag shot a 69 (34-35) to lead all golfers on both nines.

Dan Cavanagh shot a 78 over 18 holes, 40 in the HOL nine. Dockter also shot a 40 in the HOL nine, finishing with a 90 overall. Nelson (40-44) and Mike Guehna (42-42) each carded an 84.

Perham (19 points) is now in fourth place in the HOL, one-point behind D-G-F for third. H/U-H is in the lead with eight points, one-point ahead of Agassiz Valley.

The Jackets will have an invite at Wildflower today (May 3). They play 18 holes again May 4 at Staples-Motley (Vintage G.C.).

The HOL at Battle Lake (Balmoral G.C.) will be May 7, followed by the HOL at Barnesville on May 10.

Girls JV win at home

The Lady Jacket J.V. team won the Perham J.V. Invite on April 30. They shot a 397, besting second place Bemidji by 37 strokes. The girls swept the top-four individual places (Becca Huebsch-96, Abby Huebsch-98, Kaylan Huber-101, Kari Cavanagh-102).
