The "Giving Tree" is sponsored by the Perham Ministerial Association and the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce. For the eleventh year, Lisa and Steve Sheets are organizing this very worthwhile project. The "Giving Tree" is a wonderful way to help children in the area receive a gift at Christmas, who otherwise might not receive one. Cards are placed on the "Giving Tree" describing the child's wishes for a gift. You can pick a card off the tree, displayed at the Perham Chamber of Commerce office, buy the gift, wrap it and bring it back to the Chamber. These special gifts are then distributed for the child to open at Christmas. All of the gifts are anonymous so the giver and recipient of the gift never meet.
The deadline to purchase a gift and return the card to the Chamber office this year is December 13. Approximately 160 children were served by the "Giving Tree" program last year.
