After opening the season with a win in the HOL at Pelican Rapids, the Jacket boys golf team has struggled a bit in their second week.
HOL at WCA
We didnt play very well today, head coach Jeff Tweeton said of Perhams fifth place finish at Tipsinah Mounds in the HOL at West Central Area last Thursday.

Mike Guehna led the team with a round of 40. Taylor Cavanagh and Will Ryan each shot a 41.
WCA defended their home course, winning the team title with a 153. Agassiz Valley was second with a 157.
Thats just the way it goes sometimes. Im sure well bounce back at home on Saturday, Tweeton said.
Perham Invite
Despite a nearly perfect spring day to golf, The Jackets didnt bounce back as well as Tweeton had hoped at Perham Lakeside on Saturday. The Black team, which was the varsity team, finished tied for 12th in the 24-team invite with a score of 330. The Gold J.V. team finished 24th with a 399.
Detroit Lakes, ranked No. 3 in the State, won the invite with a 289. Fargo South was second with a 297. Fargo North and Crookston tied for third with 303. Fargo Souths Tom Hoge earned medalist honors with a 70.
Cavanagh led Perham with a 73. Barry Nelson finished with a 81, followed by Will Ryan with a 87.
Our top-three on the Black team shot very well, Tweeton said. We will need to work on getting the rest of the guys up to that level.

Fergus Falls Invite
As nice as Saturday was, weather-wise, Monday was the polar opposite with temps hovering in the high 40s with gusting winds. Scores reflected the weather as Perham failed to have a golfer crack 80, as they finished eighth out of 19 teams with a 357.
Moorhead won the team title with a 327. Crookston was second behind medalist Travis Rosss score of 73.
Cavanagh again led the Jackets with a 82. Nelson carded an 86, followed by Ryan with a 94.
It was a brutal day to play golf, Tweeton said. The complete opposite of Saturday.
HOL at Agassiz Valley
Perham finished third in the HOL at Agassiz Valley Tuesday with a round of 161. West Central Area won the team title with a 152. Agassiz Valley was second with 158.
Battle Lakes Taylor Frank earned medalist honors with a 34, one stroke ahead of Cavanagh. Ryan finished in third with a 37.

From there, scores dropped. None of the other four golfers for Perham scored under a 44.
Were far enough into the season for these guys to be shooting a 40 or below, Tweeton said.
Perhams next three events will all be HOL meets. They start at Breckenridge today (April 27). On May 1, they travel to Hawley, then theyll play at Lake Park-Audubon on May 4.
