The Perham City Council was called to order at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, March 9.
The council gave the authorization to Mayor Tim Meehl to sign a proclamation supporting the 2020 Census.
The council approved the participation in the Otter Tail County tax rebate program, known as the Big Build. The council noted that there are only a handful of parcels of land in Perham that will be eligible to apply for the rebate program.
The council approved the park boards to purchase new playground equipment and an irrigation system for the East Park Playground. The park board noted that they will not be removing any of the current equipment from the playground.
Plans for the Northeast Industrial Park have been completed and submitted to the Otter Tail County Highway Department for review.
The council approved St. Paul’s Lutheran Church’s request to use the park next to the Chamber of Commerce and City Hall for the National Day of Prayer on May 7.
The council approved the use of various city streets for the Second Annual Bike and Hike Perham MS event May 30.
The council approved the Lady Slipper Garden Club the use of NP Park for their annual plant sale on the first Saturday in June.
A special council meeting and Committee of the Whole meeting will be Wednesday, March 25, at 5:15 p.m. in the council chambers.
The Local Board of Review is Thursday, April 16, from 1 to 2 p.m.; a council quorum is required.
The Household Hazardous Waste Day will be Wednesday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Public Works Garage.
The next regular council meeting will be Monday, April 13, at 5:15 p.m.
