GRAND FORKS – A Grand Forks toddler has made a full recovery after nearly drowning in a pond while playing with his sister.
Lucas and Gretchen Kindseth were moving a piece of furniture Saturday when they heard their daughter Silje, 10, screaming for help. Gretchen went to the pond and found her 17-month-old son, Kjell, floating in the water.
Gretchen and Lucas began CPR while Silje called 911.
Paramedics brought Kjell to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, and then airlifted the toddler to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
Neighbors of the Kindseths have drained the pond and plan to fill it with dirt.
