Although he wasn't exactly attempting to steal Christmas, an Ottertail man took more than just community cheer when he stole merchandise and cash from Cupkie Christmas Village.

Cory Rolfe, Ottertail, allegedly used a service door to enter Cupkie Christmas Village on Sunday, August 24. He helped himself to approximately $350 in cash, along with some soda and chips.

Evidence at the scene of the crime and information gathered from Cupkie staff led to Rolfe's arrest, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department.

Cupkie Christmas Village is a family-owned operation on County Highway 14, just off of Highway 78, between Ottertail and Perham. The business offers a variety of trees, wreaths, and garland, along with a year-round gift shop.
