ROSEVILLE, Minn. - A project engineer from a northwest Minneapolis suburb has come forward to claim one-third of a $448 million Powerball jackpot.
Paul White, of Ham Lake, was introduced Thursday afternoon at a news conference at the Minnesota State Lottery's headquarters.
The other two winning tickets were sold in New Jersey.
White says he learned he was holding a winning ticket Thursday morning after his "significant other" called him to say one of three winners had been sold in Minnesota. He says he purchased two tickets for Wednesday's drawing, and found one matched all six numbers.
The ticket is worth $149.4 million if he selects the 30-year-annuity option, or $86 million if the cash option is chosen.

The other winning tickets were sold in New Jersey.
The $448.4 million jackpot is the third largest in Powerball history.
It is the 22nd time Minnesota has had a Powerball jackpot winner, according to Ed Van Petten, director of the Minnesota State Lottery.
“We’re thrilled that a ticket sold in Minnesota won a share of this jackpot,” he said.
