Excitement builds as Perham prepares for its annual Harvest Fest, held this year on Saturday, October 7. There will be activities for all ages and interests, from an impressive flea market, to a special matinee at the Comet Theater, to rides on the Perham Express.

Musical entertainment this year includes the Tickwood String Band, performing from 11:30-1:30 and the North Star Cloggers.

Flea market featured

The Fall Flea Market will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the public parking lot across from Pizza Ranch. Everything from junk to antiques will be available at the flea market. The event will also include food vendors, arts and crafts, and pumpkins and bittersweet gourds.

The cost for a ten foot space is $20. Outdoor spaces may be reserved by calling Stephanie or Tish at 218-346-2600. They would also like welcome any ideas or suggestions for the event.

Special film on Comet screen

"Open Season," an animated action, adventure, comedy about Boog, a grizzly bear with no survival skills trying to survive Open Bear Season will be shown at the Comet Theater in a special Saturday matinee at 1:00 p.m. The film is rated PG. All seats for the matinee are $4.

Perham Express to offer shuttle

For those interested in spending the day shopping, the Perham Express will bring shoppers around town in style. The free shuttle will stop at many of Perham's favorite specialty shops. Several local stores are coinciding their fall open houses with Harvest Fest.
