Harvey O. Mostue, 80, a resident of rural Erhard, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

He was born February 2, 1928, in Erhard, Minnesota, the son of Math and Gina (Lyngstad) Mostue. He grew up in Maplewood Township, attending school at District #187. He worked various jobs including at the bakery in Fergus Falls, in the taconite mines, and as a farm hand. On December 7, 1950, he joined the U. S. Army, serving in Korea with the Infantry, and was discharged in September of 1952.

He returned home and worked for the Fergus Concrete Block Plant, then Davidson Metal, and then for Anderson Brothers Construction, working there for 20 years.

On April 23, 1955 he married Adeline Peasley in Erhard. The couple raised their family on the farm where he lived until the time of his death.

Harvey loved fishing, gardening, bird watching, playing cards, old time music, and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Adeline; three brothers, Phyllix, Gordon and Calmer; one sister, Gladys Phillips; and four nephews.

Survivors include his children: Russ (Cheryl) Mostue of Erhard, Cindy Mostue of Erhard, Jacki (Mac) McAllister of Richville, and Tim Mostue of Dent; seven grandchildren: Shari Mostue, Brandy (Jason) Bouchard, Tom Mostue, Daidre (Matt) Seiple, Jace (Stef) Davis, James "J.J." McAllister, and Kari (Eric) Maijala; nine great-grandchildren: Alex, Evan, Britta, Bryce, Braden, Skylar, MacKenzie, Cali and Ethan; three sisters: Norma Helgeson of Pelican Rapids, Myrtle Gordon of Keewatin, and Nora Kugler of Fergus Falls, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.

Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Tonseth Lutheran Church, rural Erhard

Clergy: Reverend David Eggebraton

Interment: Tonseth Lutheran Cemetery, rural Erhard
