Helen F. Johnsen, age 79, of Perham, MN, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at the Perham Memorial Hospital, Perham, MN. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, at 11:00 am at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, with Pastor Dirk Currier officiating. Burial will take place in the Richville Village Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 7, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Helen Frances Sahli was born February 16, 1928, in Aberdeen, SD, the daughter of Conrad and Helen (Gabriel) Sahli. On December 19, 1953, she was united in marriage to Lynn Johnsen in Frankfurt, SD. Helen worked as a waitress most of her life and at the Richville Senior Center. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, bingo, crosswords, and baking. She made great bread, and banana and coconut cream pies. Helen loved the company of her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her husband, Lynn, Perham, MN; daughters, Dana Houska, Fergus Falls, MN; Bonnie (Dion) Marweg, New York Mills, MN; and Mary (Scott) Myers, Ottertail, MN; son, Roger (Mary) Johnsen, Perham, MN; daughter-in-law, Derene Johnsen, Richville, MN; and nine grandchildren, Christina (D'Arcy) Villneauve, Jean Johnsen, Heather Fones, Sandy (Mike) Dahnke, Elizabeth Krause, Becky Krause, Ann Johnsen, Lynn Johnsen, Jessica Johnsen; and eleven great grandchildren.
Preceding Helen in death are her parents, brothers, sisters, and son, Niels "Butch" Johnsen.
