The funeral services for Herbert Clarence Wilschewski, 81, Vergas, Minnesota, will be Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at 11 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Vergas, Minnesota with Reverend Robert Hinckley officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled at St. John's Lutheran Church, Vergas, Minnesota, on Monday, May 28, 2007 from 4-8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Herbert died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Herbert Clarence Wilschewski was born in Frazee, MN on July 12, 1925 to Edward and Emelie (Sandau) Wilschewski. He was raised in Hobart Township, rural Vergas, and attended school in Vergas and Frazee, graduating from Frazee High School in 1943. Following high school, Herbert worked in carpentry until serving in the Army during WWII from July 1945 - January 1947. Herb was united in marriage to Arlene Klovstad on June 12, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Franklin, rural Pelican Rapids, MN. They were blessed with three daughters, raising them in the Vergas area. He continued carpentry work until 1967 when he became employed by Midwest Gas Transmission Company. In December 1987, Herb retired.

Herb enjoyed farming, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and wildlife watching. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and making special wood projects for them. Herb was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Vergas and a member of VFW Post 7702 of Frazee.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Arlene; three daughters, Deborah (Gerald) Moltzan, Diane (Raymond) Sonnenberg, and Joan (Mark) Stenger all of rural Vergas, MN; seven grandchildren, Gina (Travis) Schauer, Dustin Dahring, Amanda Sonnenberg, Alyssa Sonnenberg, Jim Stenger, Eddie Stenger, and Nancy Stenger; three step-grandchildren, Andrew Moltzan, Kimberlee Coalwell, and Michael Moltzan; two step-great, grandchildren, Samantha Coalwell and Dylan Coalwell; and one sister, Elaine Lewis, Detroit Lakes, MN, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Herb's parents and one brother Donald, preceded him in death.
