Home decor department expands at newly remodeled Homestead

Homestead Building Supply has expanded its home interior department--not only with a newly remodeled section of the store, but with an interior designer.

Homestead Building Supply has expanded its home interior department--not only with a newly remodeled section of the store, but with an interior designer.

Homestead hosted an open house last week, introducing Tammy Wooley to customers. A Nevada resident and graduate of the Art Institute of Las Vegas, Wooley is Homestead's home decor specialist. She also has working experience in the profession, serving as a design coordinator for Home Depot.

A bright, sunlit section of the store now displays Aristokraft cabinets, new stone counter tops, new floor covering lines and other interior design products. The northeast part of the building has a completely new appearance, with a new ceiling, lights, fresh paint, and new shelving.

Christianson said that he recognized a need for more home interior products and services in this area.

In expanding the home decor operation, Homestead is also planning to help educate homeowners. Interior designer Wooley is planning to host Saturday seminars on topics ranging from installing light fixtures to mosaic tiling to finishing a wood floor.
