The 549 Family Foundation's "Honey Bee Gala" is back by popular demand.

The event will be on Saturday, April 1 at Mulligans and Lakeside Golf Club. Social hour begins at 5:30 with a buffet at 6:30.

The program includes a live auction at 7 with Tim Erp returning to give the bidding extra excitement.

Guest speakers include Kris Rone, class of 1984 who lives in California and is a past executive VP of Business Operations for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Dr. Talitha Sannes-Venhuizen, class of 1992, who has a medical practice in Park Rapids.

Rone earned a bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Minnesota. She became the highest ranking female executive in Dodger franchise history. Rone is currently working with Californias First Lady, Maria Shriver as a board member of the Governors and First Ladys Conference for Women and is also leading the Athletic Task Force for a new private high school in Manhattan Beach.

Rone has received numerous personal awards and recognitions and is a highly sought-after keynote speaker.

She and her husband, David, reside in Manhattan Beach, Cal. with their daughter, Alex and son, Sean.

Dr. Talitha Sannes-Venhuizen attended U of M, Morris receiving a bachelor's degree in Spanish with a biochemistry minor. She went on to medical school in Grand Forks and completed her family practice residency at Mayo, St. Cloud. Sannes-Venhuizen currently works as a full time emergency room physician at St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids.

In July 2005 Sannes-Venhuizen moved back home with her family; theyve purchased a farmstead between Frazee and Vergas. Talitha and husband Jason, whom she met while in school at Morris, have four children.

The Honey Bee Gala evening will feature displays from several of the classes and organizations receiving grants from the 549 Family, artwork and industrial program projects from both the Prairie Wind Middle School and Perham High School, PWMS National History Day Regional contest exhibits, and several PHS trophies.

Gala tickets are available at the PHS office, the PWMS office, from Kersten Buskirk at HOTL, or by calling 347-0549. Tickets are $35 for non-549 Family members and $25 for members.
