Honor Band Perham musicians perform at Moorhead University

Eight Perham High School band students traveled to the Red River Valley for the annual high school honor band program at Minnesota State University-Moorhead.

Eight Perham High School band students traveled to the Red River Valley for the annual high school honor band program at Minnesota State University-Moorhead.

The two day event held on October 27-28 included large group rehearsals, as well as sectional workshops. The finale concert was performed in front of a full house at the Glasrud Auditorium on the Moorhead State campus.

Several hundred students from more than a dozen schools in the region participated in the honor band, and choir, program hosted by the university.

Leading the group was Perham band director Adam Tervola-Hultberg. Students participating were Jen Strege, trumpet; Sammy Guck, flute; Jessica Spanswick, alto saxophone; David Tomporowski, trombone; Joe Ulrich, bassoon; Jason Huus, trumpet; Cullen Hoglund, tenor saxophone; John Carlson, trombone.

The guest conductor was Minnesota State University-Moorhead band director Dr. John Tesch.
