Omnibus hearings for the owners of horses involved in a local neglect case will be held in May.
An initial hearing on the case was held in Otter Tail County District Court on Monday.
Charges were previously filed against the owners of 11 neglected horses that were taken from a farmstead north of Perham in November 2012.
Assistant County Attorney Heather Brandborg is now preparing for the omnibus hearings for Bruce Breun at 1 p.m., May 6, and for Allison Breun at 3 p.m., May 28. The Breuns, who have a residence near Frazee, have each been assigned to a court-appointed attorney.
The main purpose of an omnibus hearing is to determine the admissibility of evidence, including testimony and evidence seized at the time of arrest.

The prosecutor and the defendant’s counsel will attend the hearings to discuss pretrial matters pertaining to the case. Presiding judge will be Barbara Hanson.
Brandborg, as the prosecuting attorney, said previously that the case is, “a lengthy complaint.”
Charges relate to each of the 11 horses separately, she said.
Otter Tail County deputies had previously obtained a search warrant to gather evidence at the farmstead. Assisting with rescue of the horses, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, was the High Tail Horse Ranch and Rescue near Hawley, Minn.
