Ilene E. Butler, 91, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospice surrounded by her family. She was born in Richville, Minn to Edith and Milton Shaw on Sept 28, 1914. Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother entered into her eternal heaven after a short but hard battle with cancer. Ilene's family was most important to her. She and Perry Butler were married in Richville, MN on January 19, 1935. They had three children, a daughter Cleone Ann and two sons who did not survive infancy. She spent as much time as she could with her daughter Cleone and her son-in-law, Larry Boettcher. Ilene's husband preceded her in death on February 5, 1982. Ilene was loved and respected by many people throughout her life. Ilene was a devoted wife, loving mother; and an unforgettable best friend. She was known by all for her sincere kindness, caring, generosity, compassion, and unconditional giving, but most of all for her willingness to try new things including on one (and only one) occasion riding a Harley Davidson Motor Scooter.
As Ilene spread her wings and soared like an eagle through our lives, she left us with wonderful memories, which will be everlastingly treasured. We will forever miss Ilene, our angel God blessed us with. Ilene worked at several places in Duluth, MN as a Nurses Aide. She was involved with many organizations during her lifetime and found enjoyment in playing bingo, playing cards, bowling, painting and making wonderfully artistic craft work with her daughter Cleone. She made many wonderful friends while working and living in Duluth and in later years doing crafts and hobbies in the Alamo, Texas area. Ilene is survived by her daughter Cleone and her son-in-law, Larry Boettcher; four grandchildren, Timothy Boettcher married to Paulanne, Christopher Boettcher married to Linda Dianne, Lisa Lovold married to Richard and Tina Louise Brown married to Duane Brown; seven great grandchildren, Amber and Katherine Boettcher, Richard, David and Janelle Lovold and Michael and Denise Brown, she loved them all dearly, and many special friends. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. services Thursday, July 27, 2006 in Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home. Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:00 p.m. in Richville Cemetery, Richville MN.
