Hot outside shooting and a balanced scoring attack led Perham past Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 80-61 in Minnesota boys high school basketball on Friday.
Sam Rutten sank six 3-pointers and scored a total of 31 points to lead the Jackets to their first conference win. Several of those three's came in the first half as Perham built a 43-29 lead at the half.
"Sam was unbelievable on offense," head coach Dave Cresap said. "And his defensive effort was the best I have seen from him."

Jacob Hunter was also in double figures with 11 points and Todd Johnson added nine. Marcus Hendrickson chipped in with 10 points to go with a team high eight rebounds and two steals. A total of 10 Perham players entered the scoring column.
"A tremendous effort," Cresap said. "We had great board work, especially by Hunter and Hendrickson.
"Kyle (Mickelson) did a much better job of running the point," Cresap added. "He will only get better as he plays more. Todd (Johnson) and Nick (Dockter) were very steady. They are doing the little things much better. It was good to see our reserves get a chance to play and produce. We need to continue to improve as we get ready for Barnesville."
The win snapped a three-game skid to the Rebels dating back to Jan. 2006. D-G-F (0-4, 0-3 HOL) had won eight of the last nine in the series, including a pair of playoff victories in 2004 and 2005.
