It seems all good things must come to an end. At least it must seem that way for the Perham volleyball team and their dominance over the Heart O' Lakes Conference.
Perham had won 18-straight HOL titles, all undefeated seasons in the conference, until D-G-F broke the unbeaten streak and the string of conference titles last season. Now, for the first time since the 1980's, the Jackets dropped another conference match, to Lake Park-Audubon, 3-2 (18-25, 25-21, 25-23, 10-25, 15-9).
Inconsistency once again plagued Dan Christenson's team. They won the first game, then lost two close games before tieing the match with a dominating 25-10 win in game four, only to see LP-A hold on for the five-game win.

The Jackets had solid play from their front line as Kayla Speicher recorded a team-high 22 kills. Tiffany Schroeer added 11 kills and three blocks. Mallory Malikowski had a nice all-around performance with 10 digs, six service returns, eight assists and six service aces.
Perham will have a chance to get back to their winning ways in the HOL with three-straight at home against conference foes. Breckenridge will be at Prairie Wind Gymnasium tonight (Sept. 14) for a 7:30 p.m. start. Pelican Rapids will be in town on Sept. 19, followed by West Central Area on Sept. 21.
