The Yellowjacket volleyball team got over the .500 mark for the first time this season with a 3-0 over Frazee in the Battle of the Bees.
The Hornets (3-13, 2-5 HOL) gave Perham all they could handle in game one. Tiffany Schroeer led Perham to a 10-4 lead, but Frazee fought back, scoring three straight to make it 10-7.
The Hornets eventually tied the game 22-22, but a kill by Rachel Pfeffer put Perham back on top. A kill by Elisa Moenkedick gave the Jackets a 24-23 lead. Moenkedick then scored from the service line, giving Perham the 25-23 win.

Frazee took the early lead in game two. They were up 7-4 before Schroeer brought Perham back. She scored four in a row from the service line, two on aces, giving the Jackets a 8-7 lead.
Becca Peloquin scored five for Perham and the Jackets held on to a 17-14 lead when Pfeffer began her serve. Helped by a pair of kills by Schroeer, Pfeffer led Perham to a 23-14 lead. They went on to win game two, 25-17.
Game three was a blow out from the start. Kelsey Hexum came in to serve and ripped off six points, including three aces, to put Perham up 9-2. Senior Kim Brill came in for her first action and served the team to seven points with one ace. Peloquin had a pair of kills during the scoring run to give the Jackets a 21-6 lead.
Chelsey Olson served out the game with three points, giving Perham a 25-7 win.
Schroeer had nine kills and two blocks for Perham. Moenkedick had seven kills, three blocks and two aces. Pfeffer led the team with 25 assists.
Perham (8-7, 6-1 HOL) will host their annual tournament Saturday, Oct. 6 at PWMS and at the PACC. The Jackets first game in pool play will be at 9 a.m. against Climax-Fisher at Prairie Wind Gymnasium.
