James "Jimmy" Chapman, age 94, of Dent, MN, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Perham Memorial Hospital, Perham, MN. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 30, at 2:00 pm at Silent Vale Cemetery, Maine Township, Underwood, MN, with Reverend Larry Schmidt officiating.
Jimmy was born September 21, 1912, in Star Lake Township, MN, the son of James and Laura (Jenne) Chapman. He attended country school, District 137. Jimmy worked many years in Washington state in a saw mill and after retiring he moved back to Minnesota.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Nancy Wendt, Dallas, GA; two sons, Alfred and James, both of WA; a brother, Charles Chapman, Dent, MN; three sisters, Rosetta Wischnack, Pelican Rapids, MN; Clara Harthun, Pelican Rapids, MN; and Ada Veazie, Kalama, WA; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and his faithful dog, Tracy.
Preceding Jimmy in death are his parents; brothers, Melvin, Bill, John, Dayton, Alfred, and Arthur; and a sister, Lillian Pitlo.
