Memorial services were held on Saturday, November 11, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church of Madison, MN for James Devorak. Father Jack Nordick and Sister Vivian Peterson officiated at this service. Special music was provided by organist, Sally Fernholz, St. Michael's Choir and a duet by Tim & Margo Roth. Pall bearers included; Tom Weaver, Kevin Nelson, Nathan Devorak, Brandon Devorak, William Hall-Hand and Christopher Grubs. Concluding services were held at Augusta Cemetery of rural Marietta, MN.
James Matthew Devorak was born on October 22, 1982, in Breckenridge, MN, to parents Steven and Machelle (Stamp) Devorak. He was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge, MN, and confirmed at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warren, MN. James attended elementary school in Superior, WI, and high school in Crookston, MN. James has held different jobs in various areas around the country. Death came tragically to James, November 2, 2006, in Salisbury, Maryland. In life James was an "Adrenalin Junky", he enjoyed riding bulls, martial arts, free climbing (rock walls and mountains), horses, cattle, cars, mechanical work (wrenching) and being a cowboy. James is survived by his father, Steven Devorak of Rosholt, SD, mother, Machelle (Gussy) and husband Paul Sazama of Oxbow, MT, a brother, Nathan Devorak of Wahpeton, ND, two sisters; Kayla Devorak also of Wahpeton, ND, and Angel and husband Christopher Grubs of Billings, MT, paternal grandmother Delores Sazama of Perham, MN, and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Bob and Marilyn Stamp, uncle Stewart Stamp, paternal grandfather Donald Devorak, and paternal grandfather Bernard Sazama. BLESSED BE HIS MEMORY.
