Jeanne Carol Kauppi was born to Walter and Elsie (Bodas) Kauppi on September 27, 1947 in Wadena, Minnesota. She attended country school in Leaf Lakes township and graduated with high honors from high school in New York Mills in 1965. Jeanne cherished spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed finding special treasures for those she loved. She especially loved being a grandma. "Grandma Bruiser's" greatest pleasure in life was spoiling her grandchildren. "Grandma Cheese" could always be counted on for a hug and a kiss. Jeanne loved to laugh. She would often be seen with a smile on her face, sitting next to Billy holding hands. She lived life to its fullest.

She taught us all the importance of being kind and generous to others. It is that kindness and generosity that will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years: William; her children, Krista (Leon) Moss, of New York Mills, and Brent (Missy) Steinbach of New York Mills, her grandchildren: Logyn and Taylor Moss; and Cody and Shelby Steinbach, sisters, JoAnn Hoyt of Wadena, MN and Karen (Lanny) Marsh of Detroit Lakes, MN, and her brother, John Kauppi, of Wadena.
